The hunger book review. This book was a great choice because it offers suspense, action, romance, and drama all while maintaining a strong centralized theme and storyline. In the previous novel, we saw the immediate aftermath of an event that caused everyone over the age of 15 to simply disappear from an american town. It came out back in 2008, yet i only read it this past school year.
According to studies, the hunger games are a science creative writing novel transcribed by suzanne collinsin 2008; I loved that series and if you're into fantasy that's a must read. Summers debut novel, requires some chewing, and that is mostly as martha.
The final act of the novel, though, fails to deliver. Hunger is the second novel in a six book series, but doesn't suffer from middle book syndrome too badly. I was completely engrossed in the novel and was basically dead to the world until i finished it.
It is a dystopian future themed book packed full of adventure and. But reading the hunger games caught my full attention and interested me greatly. Parents need to know that the hunger games is a story about a reality show where 24 teens must kill one another until only one survives.
This is not a conventional book review. This book is a real page turner thats really easy to read. In fact, not since harry potter has a young adult series grabbed my attention quite like this one.
The hunger games series by suzanne collins i decided to review this series as a whole because much like the harry potter books, once you start this series, you wont want to put it down. Theres a surfeit of back story, and confessions and revelations that should be shocking fall flat, largely because theyre obvious. It was a lovely discovery.
That is how addictive it is. Hunger games is a book with many messages meant to mirror problems in our own society, namely desensitization to violence on tv, reality tv shows that blur the lines between real human sufferring and being kicked off the island, war, famine, haves vs. The book makes you cringe and smile as it explores the impact of trauma, the desire for control, eating disorders, emotional intimacy, physical intimacy, trust, confusion, rejection, hope, unconditional love, vulnerability, joy, boundary setting, emotion dysregulation, self injury, acceptance, love, authenticity, hiding oneself, finding oneself, and honoring oneself.
